First a person claiming to be a relative said they were in jail and needed assistance. The person supposedly was there for a funeral. Then a person claiming to be a military officer stationed at the American Embassy in Montreal, Quebec took over the conversation explaining how to send the bail money.
I met this guy online on a dating site. He gave me the above number and I assumed it was a cell phone because he texts me from it. For some reason I decided to check out the number and found out it's a landline! I don't understand how he could be texting me. Someone was trying to scam me a while back saying he lived in California and it turned out he was in Europe.
Is it possible for someone to hook up some kind of a system to talk and text people in the states from overseas? I'm confused and very suspicious . . .

Got the info from Facebook to explain why my"relative" was in jail. I was suppose to by money vouchers and give them the numbers on them.
